DIGITAL ELEVATION MODELS
DEMs provide a digital representation of the surface of a selected area, informed by elevation data.
OUR DIGITAL TERRAIN TECHNOLOGY
Our Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) give you a fuller understanding of the land where your projects are housed. Prius Intelli offers both digital surface model (DMS) and digital terrain model (DTM) services. Our models are created with photogrammetry, informed by quality aerial imagery.
DIGITAL ELEVATION MODEL DOWNLOADS
Our DEMs are a 10cm/4” resolution. How quickly you will receive your download depends on the scope of the project. With your download, you can then use DEM analysis to support more informed…

MODELS WE OFFER
Digital terrain models show only the earth’s surface, without any manmade structures or vegetation. DTMs are more useful for getting a general understanding of the terrain. Use this model in land use planning like determining watershed.
Digital surface models show all information collected from an area. This includes surface vegetation, buildings and other man-made or natural structures. These models are helpful in ongoing construction and vegetation management.
BARE EARTH MODELS
(photogrammetry derived .las or .xyz files)
Terrain models with just the bare earth surface usually work best with downstream tools like arc and civil 3D. While the data collected in DSMs are ideal for some projects, you may run into issues when importing these models as data gets transformed from a photo model into a point cloud. With this, the majority of our clients ask for bare earth DTMs, but we’re eager to discuss the scope and needs of your specific project.
(photogrammetry derived .shp file)
We can also produce simple contour shapefiles with intervals from 1 foot to 10 feet.
If you’re unsure of which model is more appropriate for your project, we’re happy to counsel you on capabilities and benefits. Call us to start discussing your best solution 888-717-6277.
